Critique Groups

The CHAL critique group at 10 am on the first and third Thursdays. The first Thursday’s meeting in held “in-person” at the Capitol Hill Arts Workshop (545 7 th St. SE) starting at 10am for usually two hours.

The meeting on the third Thursday is by zoom and usually lasts less than two hours. If you want to participate please email Carolyn [carolynrondthaler@gmail.com] for the zoom link and more information.

But first, a little bit about the group. The purpose is to get feedback on your work. We mean it when we say all mediums are welcome. We have people working in watercolor, acrylic, oil, photography, collage, sculpture, and more. The format is to present your work, tell a little bit about your objectives, and what kind of feedback you would like and then the others in the group give their thoughts.

The focus is on constructive criticism (critique) and honest, but positive, feedback. Sometimes it is a risk to present work that is still in progress and we always respect that.

Carolyn says, “I like seeing other artists and their work and talking art. We learn from each other.”
