Monthly Archives: November 2019

A blast from the past: two years ago in 2017

The theme for the contest was “It’s all here on the Hill!” The winning designs, submitted by Capitol Hill Art League artists, captured the beauty of Capitol Hill. Winning designs were from: Kay Fuller, former CHAL chairperson and watercolorist, Tara Hamilton, long time Steering Committee volunteer and watercolorist, Linda Norton, watercolorist artist and long time CHAL member, and Rindy O’Brien, photojournalist and former Chairperson partnered with Elizabeth Eby, mixed media artist and member of CHAL.

In October of 2016, the Capitol Hill Business Improvement District (BID) and the Capitol Hill Art League (CHAL) collaborated on a competition to give artists a unique opportunity to celebrate our community through art. The competition, open to CHAL members, was to design all-weather banners to display all around the Hill.

CHAL is always thrilled to make our artistic offerings to this wonderful community of Capitol Hill. Read about it here: https://www.capitolhillbid.org/events/capitol-hill-banner-design-contest
