About
Who We Are and What We Do
The Capitol Hill Art League (CHAL) is a visual arts organization with members drawn from our neighborhood, the city and the region. We promote the visual arts in the Capitol Hill community and beyond. Our principal effort is to produce seven juried exibits and one non-juried holiday sale from September to May through which members can exhibit and sell their work.CHAL:
- supports artistic growth, especially through juror talks and feedback;
- brings members and the community together on the second Saturday of each month for opening receptions where artists can meet each other and talk about art; and
- promotes growth and appreciation of the arts in the community at large.
- produces a quarterly e-newsletter;
- arranges and encourages exhibits by members in local venues outside the CHAW gallery;
- communicates to our members opportunities for exhibiting work in other venues;
- promotes public art projects,
- offers members workshops and other services, such as photographing their work; and
- maintains a continuing relationship with the Capitol Hill
Arts
Workshop.
