Spring Artists’ Choice Exhibition 2017

 Choose one of your favorite works of art (18″ x 24″ maximum size),  that hasn’t been in a CHAL exhibit for our CHAL members’ Spring non-juried show held at Capitol Hill Arts Workshop on May 20th from 9:30-11:30pm.          Exhibit dates: May 20th-June 3rd, 2017.

Community Living Center/VA Medical Center

CHAL EXHIBIT AT THE COMMUNITY LIVING CENTER (CLC) VA MEDICAL CENTER

Opportunity KNOCKS for six CHAL members to exhibit five 2-D art at CLC, 50 Irving St. NW, Washington, DC 20422.  The following members will be exhibiting their art: Karin Edgett, Elizabeth Sampson, Joan Owings, Karen Cohen, Marie Cilia De Amicis and Rindy OBrien.

Talk and Tour: May 9 Tuesday 2:30pm CHAL Artists discuss their exhibit in person.

Exhibit Dates: April 16-June 17 and August 12-November 4, 2017

  Delivery Date: April 15, 2017  PICK UP Date: June 17, 2017

    All sales are directly between the buyer and the artist. No commissions are taken. A  second group of works by five different artists will be installed from August 12 through November 4, 2017.  Selected artists will be contacted with further delivery guidance.

This Earth-CHAL April 2107 juried exhibit

What on earth is the CHAL April show all about? Just about any earthly thing. On, above, below or made of earth or relating to earth is the theme. This exhibit features thirteen artists of various media. 

Exhibit dates: April 22-May 10, 2017

Where: Capitol Hill Art Workshop, 545 Seventh Street SE, Washington DC

Opening Reception: April 22 , 5-7pm CHAW   Juror Marta Staudinger, gallery owner, curator, and lecturer for Art History Smithsonian Journeys, will discuss her selections and present awards.

Eno Wine Bar in Georgetown features CHAL art

ENO Wine Bar is in the heart of Washington DC’s historic Georgetown, next door to the Four Seasons Hotel. Refined yet casual, Eno locally sources menu items such as cheeses from Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Maryland to pair with exceptional wines. Locally sourced art adorns the walls of ENO, on exhibit from various members of Capitol Hill Art League.  Eno’s has invited CHAL artists to exhibit art on a two-month rotation for 2017.

Karen Van Allen will feature her abstract paintings in Eno Wine Bar in June and July  2017.

SPRING THEME: Community Forklift Art Sale-Garden Party

Community Forklift Garden Party and Art Sale April 1 & April 2

Where: 4671 Tanglewood Drive,Edmonston,MD      When: April 1, Saturday 10am-4pm and Sunday April 2,  11am – 3pm

Exhibit and Sales Opportunity. The Community Forklift (CFL) will feature some CHAL artists at their CFL Garden Party and Art Sale. CHAL artists may enter up to FOUR works with a “Spring-Theme”. Bins will be available to sell shrink-wrapped, matted, original paintings and greeting cards. Please read details and entry info here.

Also, Community Forklift is offering 5 artists for each of their First Friday’s May-Sept the opportunity to sell their work on a first come sign up basis from 6-8pm with set up between 4pm-5pm. No commission taken. If interested contact: Rachel@CommunityForklift.org

Spring or garden attire optional. Use your creative imagination!

Volunteer Opportunities. Every participant will need to volunteer for a shift during receiving, set-up, serving at the sales table, and/or break down. Kathy Clowery will be sending information about volunteering in March.
